WHERE CAN I SERVE?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Zion is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas. Zion members have many opportunities for service in Christ’s name through our ministries of Worship, Christian Formation, Social Outreach, Fellowship,Care and Stewardship.  Spiritual Gift inventories and Time and Talent surveys assist members to find their “best fit” in the ministries of the congregation.

MISSION OUTREACH

Zion is thrilled to share Christ and his love for all people here in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania as well as around the world. We are active in supporting the wider church with our money and with our prayers.  Zion is home to the Hempfield Area Food Pantry, which is available and open every Monday and Wednesday from 10 am – 1 pm.  Every Thursday a drive-thru community meal is available at 5:30 pm.  We encourage all of our people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether it means that they move to a foreign country or live and minister in our own community.

MUSIC

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments, some are vocalists, others are involved in the choir.  These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of Zion, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.

USHERS

The usher team at Zion fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, unlocking doors, locking doors, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life.

MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of Zion. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. We also maintain an active Facebook page for additional church communication.

PRAYER TEAM

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Zion is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. There is a Care Team at Zion that prays  for and visits those who are in special need of prayer and care.  Throughout the week, the Care Team as well as many others in the church pray for our pastor, a list of church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Zion has a Sunday School program after worship each Sunday at 10:30 a.m.. This special time is an opportunity for interaction and learning.
